Am I a candidate for a hair transplant surgery?
If you find that your hair is starting to thin, are in the process of balding or you are completely bald, you are a candidate for hair transplantation. Those losing hair for a few years at a moderate to dramatic rate should consider a hair transplant procedure, as it is the only permanent solution to hair loss.
Anyone who has experienced permanent hair loss may be a candidate for hair restoration surgery, including:

How long do hair transplants last?
Hair transplant procedures involve the grafting of hair from the back and sides of the head. The hair in this area is genetically coded to be resistant to hair loss. When transplanted, the hair will typically last a lifetime. Though in some cases, a very small percentage may be lost due to damage and aging.
Will my procedure be performed by a physician at Persona?
Our hair restoration surgeons perform the extractions of the Donor hair to be transplanted and work very closely with our highly trained surgical transplant team in the successful restoration of an individual’s hair.

Will the transplanted hair ever fall out?
Hair that is transplanted from the donor area is resistant to the effects of DHT (dihydrotestosterone), the hormone that causes hair loss. No matter the location, transplanted hair will maintain it's resistance to DHT and continue to grow.
How many hair transplant session are necessary for a full head of hair?
Every individual has a unique combination of hair loss and existing hair type, and we, therefore recommend a consultation as hair transplant procedures vary relative to the number of grafts and sessions needed. While the majority of patients with severe pattern baldness will require two procedures, a patient’s appearance is greatly improved even after one session.
Is hair restoration surgery (hair transplant) painful?
The Donor and Recipient areas of the scalp are anesthetized during the transplant procedure. Once anesthetized, the areas (Donor and Recipient) are completely numb which allows for total patient comfort during the procedure.
Can women benefit from hair transplantation?
Yes, many women who experience hair loss are excellent candidates for hair transplantation. Female patients can greatly benefit from surgical hair restoration after an extensive consultation to determine and assure that they are good candidates for hair transplantation.
Do you offer financing for hair transplant procedures?
Yes, we offer 100% financing Care Credit for all hair transplant procedures. Applications are available at our office or through the site, and our staff is available to help you through the application process.
How do you determine the cost of your hair restoration procedures?
Procedure fees are based on the number of grafts required to be transplanted to achieve each patient’s desired look. During your consultation, our Client Care Coordinator will discuss Hair Transplant fees as well as available financing.
What can I expect after the hair transplant procedure?
Following the procedure, patients may experience a sense of tightness along the back of the head where the donor hair was removed. The recipient area of newly transplanted hair will have slight crusting at the base of the hair shaft. Medications are prescribed specifically for discomfort and swelling following your transplant procedure.
When will I see the results of my hair restoration surgery?
Most transplanted hair will fall out during the two to five weeks following the procedure. While it may be alarming, it is perfectly normal and only temporary. Typically, hair begins to grow 10-14 weeks after the procedure. It is very normal for hair growth to be fine. Gradually, over time, the hair will grow and thicken, with most of the transplanted hair becoming visible by six months.
